ROCOL^® Launches Three New Products

ROCOL has launched three new products in its Cold Galvanising Spray range which provide triple, long-term protection from the corrosion of ferrous metal.  The new Triple Protection products are available in a range of decorative finishes – Bright, Matt and Hot Dip Finish - to suit all requirements and complement the market leading performance of  the  original ROCOL Cold Galvanising Spray.

The original Cold Galvanising Spray provides ultimate long-term corrosion protection for metal components requiring a permanent zinc-rich, mid-grey coating.  It features more than 95 per cent high purity zinc in the dry film and over 3500 hours of salt spray testing at 35°C resulted in zero corrosion.  With a non-toxic formulation and  extreme temperature range  it can be used to repair the surface of galvanised components that have been damaged or removed due to welding or other mechanical operations.

These new Triple Protection  products utilise an advanced resin system and a high content of ultra-pure zinc to deliver triple protection in terms of optimum cathodic defence, mechanical toughness and water resistance.  Each of the products in the range offers a unique combination of flexibility and hardness and is highly resistant to peeling, flaking and abrasion.  In addition they provide a durable, hydrophobic film with moisture repelled from the surface to form beads of water.  As with the original Cold Galvanising Spray each has outstanding temperature resistance from -30° to +450°C.  Regardless of finish, each of the three new products can act as a high performance coating and primer containing pure zinc, aluminium, synthetic resins and additives and like the original formula can be over-painted.

The Cold Galvanising Spray Matt Triple Protection offers outstanding long-term corrosion protection for metal components requiring a permanent mid-grey coating.  It features more than 70 per cent high purity zinc in the dry film and after 2000 hours of salt spray testing at 35°C there was zero corrosion.

Whilst the Cold Galvanising Spray Bright Triple Protection features more than 45 per cent high purity zinc in the dry film it offers the same long-term triple corrosion protection as the Matt Triple Protection and has undergone the same vigorous testing. It provides a permanent brighter light-grey coating

Cold Galvanising Spray Hot Dip Finish Triple Protection provides long-term corrosion protection for metal components requiring a permanent, bright glossy appearance with the lustre look of aluminium.  It features more than 5 per cent high purity zinc and 80 per cent aluminium.  The product has undergone 1000 hours of salt spray testing resulting in zero corrosion and like all the products in the Cold Galvanising Spray range can be used to repair the surface of galvanised products  in 24 hours.

Typical applications for the Cold Galvanising Spray range include ports and docks, marine and off-shore, home, garden, farm and other industrial equipment.  Examples are steel door and window frames, fences, gates, garage doors, trailer and caravan chassis, couplings, internal car body panels, structural steel and guard rails, welded seams, drains and boilers, storage tanks, piping and fixings etc.

All the Cold Galvanising Spray products are lead and chromate free.
